                           WHAT THE DICKENS IS UP?

Yollom gentledudes, hah! All attempts to hinder me to finish the 32nd
issue failed as you can see, such as spreading rumours I was kicked out
of SCG... Bullshit! You were the first to know if something would happen,
but it won't! Amazing, almost 4 whole years now! Another thing: I would
like all of you my friends, to return the "Olympiad" list and the
"Cracker" list to me... Anyway, I wish warm underwear to:

IKARI (shoplifter and chicken), EAGLESOFT. (Mitch and Bob, already tried
to convert Maniac Mansion on Amiga...), STRIKE FORCE (CONAN + RAGMAN, yo

                       NEWS FROM THE INNER SECTION...

Another month passed by and the best time of the year (with all it's
Christmas releases..) is knocking at the door... And here we go again
with all dirty things that made us shiver this month...

   * BAH! I was told thousands times how good cracker PHOENIX are and still
everybody's wondering who they are... Well, some guys from SUBZERO,
and the dead rest from FUSION (wasn't FUSION dead after IAN quitted
computers...) ... The real bullshit is that this MARK-LE-MAY was so
kind and wrote a letter to the software shop SCOUSE CRACKING GROUP
receives all originals from telling them he would inform the British
FEDERATION AGAINST SOFTWARE THEFT if they continue supplying us with
originals. Beside this he now denies that he has anything to do with
it and starts spreading other shit about SCG. Anyway, PHOENIX are not
able to release trained games or 100% working version, apart from
short packed ones, have a look at the packer they're using. It's the
old THE FANATIC DUO packer (from 1986) wich features just an improved
routine of the legendary ECA-packer... so what do they want?
   * Other things that can happen if someone informs the police about
certain guys can best be told by DR.F, MISTER ZEROPAGE and last but
least IRATA, (all on AMIGA) who were caught after the police recieved
detailed informations by a guy from the dead Amiga group POWERSTATION
trying to escape from his punishment...Dirty, dirty...
   * Other victims have been ROMRUNNER of SHINING 8, and the SYNDROME from
     AXENON.
   * All guys from WIZAX reinforced DOMINATORS some time ago, so that means
that the second part of EX-JEWELS are now in DOMINATORS while the
others are doing quite a good job in IKARI...a little bit confusing,
     isn't it?
   * Last Venlo meeting. T'KAY made a bet with DSH/ORION about the soccer
match Germany vs Holland. In case Germany would have lost T'KAY would
have made a new intro for ORION and in case Holland lost T'KAY would
have recieved several graphics from ORION's graphics artist. Well the
match was dramn, so what now??
   * Bad times for US phone phreakers! Las Vegas, NV country code # 702:
Everybody was caught altogether 20 guys... The parents have to pay
     everything now.
   * It seems since E.S.I. is concentrating on Amiga and U.C.F. doesn't
release anything, A.T.C. (A Touch of Class) with their maincracker and
programmer PUDWERX are the new top shot in the U.S. of A..

This time a packed news edition, but nevertheless big thanx 4 supplyin'
me with news from all kind to: all from the Scousers, T'KAY, RAGMAN +
CONAN / STRIKE FORCE, DARK FORCE + STET / SHINING 8, CF / BEASTIE BOYS
and some others... So...leighter on! /JEFFIE'89

PS. A woman enters the chemistry as she wants to buy a deodorant for her
husband. "Do you want the ball-type, ma'm?" asks the shop assistant. "No"
she says, "it's for under his arms!"
                                                                      JS'89

                         MAD ALL's BOILED MAILBOX...

Bad news I'm afraid, very bad news. . . I don't trade anymore. The
Belgian post office have had their eye on me for quite some time not due
to stampcheating and so on, but now they have me by the balls! Some weeks
ago some idiot sent me some COINS in an envelope to pay for his ILLEGAL,
ofcourse the postmaster noticed this and he put at once a letter in my
P.O. Box. When I came to empty it, I noticed that there was no mail at
all except for a post note saying I had to go to the postmaster or a
court action would be taken against me.

So I went there and what happened in his office was like a murder trial.
He wanted to know what "CFR" was, who "MAD ALL" was and why somebody sent
me money. I said I did not know and then he took a bag with about 25
packages (YOUR packages!) and said some of them had money in it, too...
because I still refused to tell him why I got the money he said he was
concealing my P.O. Box and that all incoming packages would be
  confiscated as evidence...

"What evidence" I said because I knew he could not call the cops as he
had no idea that I was connected with pirate software. But the scumbag
has notified me to the I.R.S. (the people that let you pay taxes) and now
I have to go to court (no joke!) to prove that I do not earn an income by
my mail. If this happens I'll lose my studentgrant, my childbenefit and
probably have to pay a lot of taxes, not to mention a large fine!!! So
it's big shit for MAD ALL! So please DO NOT SEND ME ANYTHING ANYMORE,
  EVER!

To those who have sent me something without reply, I'm sorry, but it's
not my fault and I have a lot bigger problem now then losing some disks.
However CFR is for me dead, so if you traded with me then from now on
send to: HITCHER, (DO NOT PUT CFR on the envelope!), P.O. BOX XXX, XXXX
OOSTENDE, BELGIUM. Will also spread ILLEGAL! Any questions to me can be
sent to him as we live 5 minutes from eachother. Thank you for your time.

                                                                    MAD ALL

NEWS FROM THE OTHER PARTS OF THE EARTH - AUSTRIAN GOSSIP

And it's once again me with some news from the SouthEuropean scene...To
start off I may mention the little copyparty in Graz at the end of
October which was one the biggest (but in a kind also lamest) ones in
Austria. But except for this there is still only COSMOS really active in
Austria, but LAZER is getting better and also old TAU showed some signs
of life but cracks were mainly done by their German (???) members.

Ya, I'd like to announce our big overseatour next year where we will
visit every known American and Canadian group to teach them the real aims
of the whole cracking circuit, so that they will be able to live without
their modems after our crackmachine ANTIRACK will show them how a real
crack looks like. Finally the quick Austrian ranks: 1. COSMOS 2. LAZER 3.
TAU and ya can forget the rest that is mainly a bunch of lameheads. To
end my november letter, I send best hellos to all contacts, friends and
  fans of COSMOS.
                                                                 SSD-COSMOS

                                YUGOSLAVIA!?

In Yugoslavia there exist 4 strong groups on the 64 and also 4 on the
Amiga. Here it is legal if you buy games and spread them across the
country (that's what I'm doing). But a scandal happened this month. Every
group who sold this "Sport Aid 88" further on, have problems with the
police, because all incomes from the game are going to Africa. So every
group who sold this game was nominated in a popular magazine called "Svet
Kompjutera" and now everyone was ashamed from one crazy reader and they
  will be caught probably.
                                                        Later, Joe Williams

                              THE REAL BENCOR!

It has come to my attention that there are some lamers on the Amiga that
are calling themselves "BENCOR BROTHERS". Let me publically state now,
that the only group who is entitled to use the word "BENCOR" are the NEW
BENCOR BROS from England. Once in the USA a group called the BENCOR
BROTHERS was formed, split up and was reformed as NEW BENCOR.

Then as NEW BENCOR finally quit I was asked to join as their only
European memeber and I built the cool group we are today, so if an
asshole American faggot say he is the BENCOR BROTHERS, then he is a lying
yankee pig and you should kick him in the balls! NBB are only: MIK, CAZ,
  JOE 90, MALX and ...
                                                                  LAZER/NBB

                                 GERMANS UP!

Hello guys, my name is DAVE E. and I'm also making a magazine called
"NEWS" and I'm cooperating with the "ILLEGAL". Here are some facts about
  "NEWS":

   * Fully in German, so that everyone in Germany can understand it.
   * Interviews with big and small groups.
   * Advertisement (Swapping, Buying, Selling originals and Freeware).
   * Stories and Articles from the cracking scene (written by crackers,
spreaders and other guys for crackers, spreaders and other guys).
   * You ask our lawyer answers!
   * And a hell of other things...

So what do you have to do when you want to get in contact with us???
Nothing is easier... Either send 4 DM to PLK XXX XXXX, XXXX
Mullheim/Baden in West Germany of course... Or just call me for the
latest news and NEWS itself, dial this very day: XXXXX-XXXXX also in
Germany (countrycode: 49). "NEWS", the German answer to all your pirates
  questions..
                                                                    DAVE E.

                                 AMIGA NEWS

Another month goes by and another ILLEGAL drops on your doormat, you jump
to your feet and race to see the new AMIGA news section by the UK's
  undoubtable best, PUBLIC ENEMY NO.1.

Let's stop drivel and get on the job (oeerrr) I mean on with job. Nothing
drastic has happened this month, apart from loads and loads of games. It
looks as if the modem game has come to the Amiga at last, with all the
main groups in the UK and some lamers getting modems to upload and
download all the newest shit hot games and of course kill off the art of
mail trading, like what has happened on the 64.

  Status for this month: UK's TOP: No.1: PUBLIC ENENMY NO.1. * No.2:
ORACLE. * No.3: QUORAM. and No.4: The rest. PE got a few members, the
whole of the SILVER GHOSTS to be exact. QUORAM gained two new groups TWE
+ NATO with the addition of SLAINE (ex-PE). By the time this goes to
print, we should have OUTRUN, so I will review it now, brilliant,
brilliant and very cool. We have been assured by Ocean that the game is
no port and that it has been totally re-programmed for the Amiga.

If you want to buy a modem then get in touch with us through JEFF. We can
get a discount, and they should only cost about 175 Pound (=ca. 520 DM).
This does not include the postage or term disk. A load of board numbers
will be provided so that you can leach like shit. Let us leave this void
for a new journey into the unknown with one lasting comment: When will
the 64's best crackers learn how to crack on the Amiga so we can really
kick the software houses butts? My personal greets to: COSSAT, LEE,
GEORGE, PAUL, RUSSEL and NIK. L8R dudes...
THE JESTER of PUBLIC ENEMY NO.1

INTERVIEW OF THE MONTH: PACO OF BROS

Well...it's not the music group, but also a computer group. Rather with
lots of imports than with cracks they went to the higher regions of any
greeting list. During the Venlo meeting last month I talked to PACO,
who's probably the leader of the Dutch section.

  Q: How old are you?
  A: 16.
Q: When did you buy your first computer and why?
  A: 1985...I got a VIC 20 ( err? ) because I was bored, I also have an
Amiga nowadays, but I don't do much on it.
Q: In which different groups have you been in up to now?
A: I was one year in THE DREAM TEAM, also one year in MADSQUAD and now
     for 6 months in BROS.
Q: Who are your best friends in the rough pirate world?
  A: LEE/SCG, TRIDOS/IKARI, BAMBAM/HOTLINE, MIKE/ORION and
     INSTINCT/CONQUEST.
Q: Do you have any enemies?
A: I don't have any enemies, but I like everybody from LEGEND, except for
     Alberto.
Q: Why are you trading by modem?
A: Because that goes much faster than mail trading. I'd better like it if
nobody would have a modem, but as everybody has a modem nowadays, I
also have to do it, because there is not much else you can do here in
Holland as there are no originals released...
  Q: What are your favorite....
  A: Game (64) : PACLAND
     Demos (64): all SCOOP demos
Music (64): 20 C.C composer and MANIACS OF NOISE
     Movie: Running Man, Red Heat
     Music: Hip Hop
Q: How does the member list of BROS look like?
A: MADSQUAD from Holland, COCO and MCL from Germany and GENE and FIRKIN
     from Norway.
Q: Why did HOLLAND beat Germany in the European Soccer Champ?
A: Because Germany was too weak, they have two left feet.
Q: What are you doing in your sparetime?
A: Sleeping, but it's hard to find any sleep.
Q: Where do you have the name "PACO" from?
A: From my parents, you idiot! Yes, it's my real name.
Q: How do you see the 64's future?
  A: I think it'll be a ruling computer for 2 more years or so...then
probably the AMIGA will be the leading one...

We're gonna beat the shit outts the Dutch team next time!
  Hahahahahahaha....
                                                                 JEFF SMART

ON TOUR: LONDON / PCS 1988!

  Friday, September 17th 1988. IRATA/RSI, MR.CURSOR/TWG, GRECO/ZENOBITS,
T'KAY and me (we still were both in TRIAD these days) entered GRECO's car
to drive to London for the PCS! Wow, we had some problems with several
traffic jams, and it happened thet we entered France at seven o'clock
(our ferry had to take off at 7:45 in Calais). Well, GRECO was driving
and lost the way several times (as usual...) while MR.CURSOR and me were
  raping T'KAY on the backseat.

Then at 7:30, we finally arrived in Calais after GRECO thought Calais was
the same as Dunkerque (oh my God), the car broke down 500 meters away
from the docks. Half an hour later I and GRECO managed to repair the car,
and I had to talk to the guy at the office and we were able to take the
next ferry at 9:15. We approached good old London after having NO
problems (surprise) with driving at the left at exactly 5 minutes to
midnight, when CURSOR, T'KAY and me listened to the sound of Big Ben on
  the Westminster Bridge...

Ah, what a feeling. London by night... is as dark as Bottrop by night.
The biggest problem was yet to come, c'uz we had no place to stay (we
wanted to sleep in the car, but as IRATA was always farting...), so we
drove to Chelsea, parked the car directly at the EARL'S COURT (where the
PCS took place) and walked around at 1:00 at night hoping to find a
hotel. And Wowzers! As the opening cermony of the Summer Olympiad was on
TV we really found a cheap one.

Saturday, the day of the meeting: after sleeping very well and a short
visiting of Oxford Street (I wanted to go there), we took a cab back to
the hotel which was only 300 meters away from the show. We spent the
whole Saturday and the whole Sunday at the show, and I think everbody
knows what they missed out. Funny things happened Saturday evening when
T'KAY (and me) were quite drunk but that's none of your biz.

Sunday evening when we all entered McDonald's, GRECO wanted to go down
and ask an assistant for a fork. Well, I told him that "fork" means in
English "cunt" (which is the nice thing girls have between their legs,
also known as "pussy" or "snatch"), and he believed me. Well, he returned
with a red face and said the assistant asked him where he's coming from
and after he answered "from Germany", the assistant said: "we don't have
any cunts here" while all the others were laughing...

Well, driving back was no problem, though the car broke down two or three
times (in Belgium, in the middle of the night) and I reached (while all
others were sleeping) with the last gulp of fuel safely Germany... I
can't wait to return to London for the next year.
                                                              JEFF SMART'89

                                                          MWS/RWE + JS/SCG.

                          GOGO BROWN SLAGS OFF....

Hoho...the reaction to my first article were not bad. So, I was surprised
that I am STRIDER of FAIRLIGHT, Mitch/ESI, JUST ICE/IKARI and even JEFFIE
was thought to be me... Well, who knows, perhaps one of these proposals
are right?? Anyway, this month I'm going to tell you about IDIOTS,
  ARSEHOLES, AND OTHER CRACKERS...

First of all one has to differenciate between idiots from a) known groups
  b) quite known groups c) unknown groups or d) groups that want to be
famous... Well, normally the d-type (not R-Type, you nose!) is the worst.
As a good example I'd like to mention this Mr. Turbo Hacker who once got
the honour to be printed in "Commodore User"... Shit, guys that want to
show others how good they are and the rest of the bullshit, well I'm sure
none of us had never heard of this Turbo Smacker before, am I right?

Others prefer the usual bullshit talk on the phone, take German BROS
members MAGIC CIRCLE (a shame for the whole group) for instance. Once
being called by them and asked about what about swapping, you first ask
them what they can offer? And, gosh, they might be good, but then when
you recieve no package though you told them to send you something you
know about it. Those idiots hear that several games are going to be
released in a few days and spread the word they've already got them or
even cracked (which is a mere joke as regards MAGIC CIRCLE) them ('ave
curz), the only trouble that may start is when these games are not going
to release then, caused by perhaps some unknown reasons! My advice: Ask
such idiots about details of or in the game, e.g. sound, length, graphics
and some other things. The usual answer is then: "U c, I ditn hat ze
thyme Z'ave a luk on it." Then you say: "Thank you very much...".

Another bad type is the c) one, mostly aiming at your strained, poor
nerves calling you up several times a day or writing to your real adress
("Hau e-baut treydink?" or something similar). The climax is reached when
you even get an attack of mental derangement and send them some disks
asking them to stop their futile attempts, but then some weeks later this
parcel steps back saying: "Undeliverable, because wrong adress!" Sigh
damn, a cold shudder seizes me everytime when I recieved parcels with
taped stamps, after all the postoffice can hold me responsible for
cheating them and how shall I prove the opposite? Next time about the
four zonal lameness theory developed by no one less than GOGO BROWN, your
  worst nightmare RAMBO BROWN!

                           THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL

Anybody out there knows that the choice is yours to make in any chance
(freaking!) you take. And we all know that the winner takes it all and
that there is no place for second place (cracking or importing). Nobody
in "our world" wants to be beaten, we all push until the very edge. We
have been pushing everything above the law. "Illegal, Who cares?" Who the
hell cares about anything? All we care about is being the first with a
new crack or import. Is that what really counts?

All of us have their own reasons for being in pirating. I dare to say
that I have seen everything and understand more than anybody. I have been
in this crucial business for years and years. I have learned that you
can't trust NOBODY. That's hard, but we all know it! I have been in the
USA for 1 year, that gave me a lot of time to think about everything. I
found out that there is more than having a new crack or import.
Everything in "our world" is based on FAKE friendships.

Man, admit it! Who doesn't hide away certain utilities, programs or
contacts. Contacts, that's the keyword! All you people have is CONTACTS.
Well, let me tell you something that comes straight from the heart,
nobody has SHIT! If it all comes down to it the only thing you have left
is a few boxes of disks with games you never play anyway, all the fame
will be gone. All your efforts will have been for SHIT! You won't have
  nobody there, except yourself.

So called contacts or computerfriends will call you a lamer! Yeah, they
will say: "Group XXX, they are lame" - You know what: "FUCK THEM!"
Everything you do is a waste! Nothing really makes a difference. Okay,
it's true, you are part of something great. But just remember, that in
"our world" the winner takes it all and leaves the lamer standing small!
  Later,
                                                                 MARCEL/FAC

                                ODE TO MY C64

This is the end, beautiful friend. This is the end, my only friend. The
end of our elaborate plans. The end of everything that stands. The end.
No safety or surprise, the end. I'll never look in to your drive again,
  my friend.
                                                                      ALLAN

I have signed this "ode to my 64" with my real name and not "MAD ALL" coz
that part of my life is now dead an buried. CFR will continue but to know
details about that contact someone else but leave me the hell alone. I
could begin to write a prententious article about me being one of the
first pirates who is still around now, and that I've seen it all, that I
was already writing for ILLEGAL when it only reached 100 people and the
cracker world didn't care a lot about it, but I don't care about anymore
to do what all of you do these days (thinking you're God).

I could also start to write my life-story, but that would be too boring,
so I'll just write my last words to all I knew... I'm really glad that my
home adress was (almost) not spread, this way I'll be left alone from now
on... The reason for this momentary lapse of reason (i.e me quitting the
  64) is a court injunction (look it up, idiot!) for about 7000 German
marks. Yes, a fortune, you can read it on another page in this ish.
Strange, during my whole career as a pirate I have wondered how my last
farewell would look like, and now that I'm writing it I want to get it
over as fast as possible, so here I give list, charts, compilation, call
  them what you want...

                             IGUANA VS ILLEGAL?

Yes, the time a new magazine appears the same time the old question
arouses: "What are you gonna do against it?", why should I do anything
against a group that is also doing a magazine now? And especially a group
I never had anything against before... like ZENITH now. People already
claimed that IGUANA is boring and so on, and I can only say as regards
this: "Give them some time, as all beginnings are difficult..." And for
all others, I'm recieving every issue by their editor NOSAH / ZENITH,
while he is getting every ILLEGAL edition of course from me, so I don't
see any reasons for slagging off.
                                                                      JS'89

PRESS-CLIP FROM CTW WITH THE HEADLINE: "HACKED OFF BY HACKERS"

I could not help but notice the much higher profile adopted by the
software piracy gangs at this year's PC show. A large group of people
wearing T-shirts proudly proclaiming the "Kent Cracking Team" could be
seen closely examining the new games on display. The stand of one
software house was raided by an individual who, carefully choosing the
right moment, ripped the side off a display cabinet and was away with an
un-released Atari game before anyone could stop him. No doubt that game
will be "cracked" and on the pirate circiut within a matter of weeks. The
attitude of some of the stand management only ???? encourage the worst in
  people.

On Saturday, not a single person was visible on the exhibit stand, they
were presumably attending to visitors in the "inner sanctum" - while
outside, the kids were taking the stand to pieces. I have been told that
"it's simply not worth trying to sell Atari or Amiga software" due to the
activities of the "pirate" circuit. What do the retailers say about this?
I'd like to know. Certainly there can be no doubt that a vast amount -
perhaps the majority - of pirated games software for those machines is
circulated. Do we just blame the hackers, however? In my opinion, the
software houses themselves are largely to blame. Copy protection on Amiga
and Atari disks seems to be about as effective as a plastic padlock. The
hackers seem to experience little difficulty in defeating it.

In this case, it seems that better security is called for. I don't claim
to have the universal answer, but there are some methods which seem to be
resonable effective; for instance, the issue of prismatic colourfilm
devices for each package tied into a unique passcode on each disk; or the
"novella" method ( e.g. "The Pawn") where at some stage in the game, the
user must enter a keyword from some part of the text.

If the cost of PAL chips reduces substatially, copy protection for games
could be made well-nigh perfect by issuing a plastic "dongle" with each
package. (Requiring insertion of a matching device into the paralell port
before the game would run). Please note, I do not advocate or approve of
copy protection on business packages. The history of such practice is
that it alienates legitimate users and does little to improve revenue.
The same cannot be said for games, however.

  Yours sincerely,

  CTW's commentary:

-"Considering the enormity of the piracy problem, one would have thought
that after six years leisure publishers could have found some way of
thwarting the hackers. The effective novella method does work but can
irritate the gameplayer and, no doubt, adds to a product's retail price.
Nothing is likely to change there for a while so surely it's the cracking
teams - enjoying a pervers form of superstardom - that should be hunted
out and brought to book. The troubble is that too many software houses
sit around and expect the Federation Against Software Theft (FAST) to do
  all the work.

In fact, many will back FAST's efforts without even becoming members. If
current levels of piracy are to be reduced every firm active in the
industry must paly its part. Publications must give the issue publicity -
either educating its readers or shopping offenders - and software houses,
distributors and retailers alike must all act against offenders when
possible. If nobody is going to do anything, nobody has the right to
complain - and nothing will change."

                           THE STORY OF COLONY 12!

It's Friday, 2 pm, the weekend is smilin' and I even find a seat on the
bus. Great, I look out of the window and start to smile...Tonight is the
race and the final election. I should win after I worked one full year
for this very day. Then I'll be the number one in my city, hehe... Back
at home, after eating I go out the big field and open the hidden door
that is almost invisible for someone who doesn't know about it. I then
enter the code and the door opens. as I walk my stage, accompanied by
yells of crying girls I meet Mike, "Hi, Bernie pal, good luck for
tonight1" and I answer "Thanx, mate I can need it."

I approach my room and sit down in front of the two terminals. I enter my
ID code and watch the current rankings, I'm the number 4 in town, but
wait for tonight. 100 guys are competing, and if I'm gonna win then the
pigs are gonna dance on the table! I walk 'round, the thing is that, wath
the dickens I dunno, girls and boys were separated from each other,
school is normal biz, but afterwards? If you're caught by any girl- or
boy groups, then farewell my friend as we've got all together 5
girlgroups and also 5 of the boys, some of them are quite brutal.

The most intellegent are in the so-called 'a-class' (as I am) and the
worst braindamaged and asocial elements are in the 'z-calss', between are
the 'e', 'l' and 's'-classes, the same with the girls. I dunno the basics
of the girls hyrachy, but I can guess what it's based on. We have the
most intelligent guys in our lines and have the best equipments...well.
this all sounds crazy, but nowadays nobody really cares. And I like it.
You join with 12 years and retires with 28, you earn own rooms in a
secret colony plus special equipment. We either meet, drink...watch
movies, work on computers...or hunt and play with the girls! Once a girl
being caught she has different possibilities...

  1. A girl loves a certain dude, and the dude loves her, but nobody of
     them is able to break
  2. The girl doesn't find a lover... hehe then we go a) "public sale"
(always funny when watching the transmission on our own TV programme),
     b) "personal services" (you can guess what these services are about)
or c) punishments when breaking our "a-class" laws...

Ha, our laws are really humane compared to the other classes' laws, a
girl must not be hurt except if she broke the law. Now, what are the
ranks about? Ha, you have unlimited access to all things that are going
on in the whole colony and that of the other classes, special priorities
and you become the commander of your class and nobody knows who you
really are as the number one always remains not being mentioned under his
  real name in the lists.

At the mo I even dunno who is ruling, but I don't care, our class is
loosing too much power in the city to the 'e'-class boy, so there has to
be a change soon... First the race, that could take about a full week and
the final election... Well, I could explain more about our colony, but
it's time for me to go, so keep your fingers crossed for me please!

                                               TO BE CONTINUED... JEFFIE'89

                                  VIDEONEWS

Yes, LAZER is back again with his fantastic video reviews to tell you all
what new movies you can now get 6 months before they come to the cinema!
This month I'll be reviewing Red Heat, the latest blockbuster from that
fine actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Black Eagle, starring Jean-Claude
  van Damme.

   * RED HEAT: Big Arnie plays KGB agent Ivan Dankow who is sent to America
to bring an escaped drug smuggler to justice. He teams up with an
American cop (James Belushi) and it leads to an explosion a minute as
they battle with drug dealers, gangsters and other assorted criminals
in their hunt for the escaped Russians. The movie is to be released in
the cinemas of the USSR where parts of it were filmed. Even the Soviet
people had already heard of Arnie through videos smuggled in from
Europe (Myshka-you owe me 3 video tapes!). RATING : 93% - not so many
special FX as Rambo III, but brill anyway.
   * BLACK EAGLE: This is the latest one from Jean-Claude van Damme (of
"Bloodsport" fame) and he stars with Japanese martial artist Sho
Kosugi in a James Bond type of movie. For a martial arts film, Black
Eagle has a surprisingly good amount of nice locations and acting and
even perhaps a plot (something rarely seen i martial arts movies!).
The martial arts sequences are scattered between the other action set
pieces. They are, of course, miles ahead of anything ever attempted in
a James Bond movie, despite the fact that each Bond film has many
times the budget of Black Eagle. RATING: 87%

                              VIDEO CHARTS 11/8

   1. Rambo III
   2. Red Heat
   3. Running Man
   4. Crocodile Dundee II
   5. Good morning Vietnam
   6. Predator
   7. Robocop
   8. Black Eagle
   9. Police Academy V
  10. Bloodsport

Before I go I must send an extra special greeting to my very good friend
Myshka (is it cold in Moskow!!??). Normal hellos to : JEFF + George + Lee
(all SCG), IKARI, Chris (thanx for the videos!), Mik, Caz, Malx, Joe 90
and captain Midnight the satellite hacker! Just keep pirating! LAZER /

                              C64 GAME REVIEWS

   * ARMALYTE by THALAMUS: Hum, it was announced to be "DELTA 2", but of
course it is not. The graphics are very good, so are the animations
and the music (by Martin Walker), but unfortunateley the game doesn't
show any new things that we haven't seen yet, slowly such games get
     boring, still 89pts.
   * ULTIMA V from ORIGIN: Number five is alive in the neverending series
of ULTIMA games and I can say that this is undoubtably the best yet.
It does not cover 8 disk sides, but it also has a hell of innovations.
So fantasy role players will spend the next years with No. V until No.
VI is launched though Origin said they aren't gonna make a sequel, but
they said the same after Ultima II. Well, I could also give a list
with friends of mine playing it. (LAZER, ACU, TK), but I get involved
     myself, 93pts.
   * CYBERNOID II by HEWSON: Improved graphics, more sprites, more
difficult screens and a brill sound from JT/Maniacs of Noise make the
game even more enjoyable as number one was. But still it's frustrating
to see that the game restarting after finishing all the levels, 85
     pts.
   * THE LAST NINJA II from SYSTEM 3: At last "the saga continues"... I was
really surprised what "Mr.Cyberload" did, 'cuz it's really better than
the first one. Skill of fighting and combination are required when you
want to get through all levels (try '1111' in no.7!). But soon it
becomes boring after finishing it, so I can't wait to see if John
Twiddy is gonna let him live again, 95 points out of 100.

                             AMIGA GAME REVIEWS

   * ROAD RAIDERS by MINDSCAPE: It has a similarity to The Last V8, but
features excellent graphics, though the game is quite difficult,
     79pts.
   * DALEY THOMPSON'S OLYMPIC CHALLENGE by OCEAN: Wowzers, Ocean give a
slight imagination of what is really possible on the 16 bit. Not only
digitised pictures, but also digitised and well animated sprites make
DTOC to the best "joystick-wabbler" on the Amiga yet, 92pts.
   * WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? by BUENA VISTA: This was really the big
surprise, a yet unknown company converted the great movie and did a
really brilliant job. It features superb animated sprites (in the 2nd
and 4th level), a brill titlepic, nice soundeffects and quite a good
gameplay, the disadvantage is that without an external drive you're
spending half of your life with flipping the two disks, anyway. 94pts.
   * CAPTAIN BLOOD by MINDSCAPE: Programmed by some French fries, the game
has a fab title sound by Jean Michel Jarre himself! You approach a
hell of different planets and can talk to lots of different life forms
in an easy way of clicking "word-signs". This way you can gather
informaton to destroy several planets, find new weapons, etc. It may
take your breath away for some time as you can also save your current
     game, 96pts.

                              THE NEXT ISSUE...

So comes a short outlook of the foolowing ish of ILLEGAL, which is gonna
be released on December 17th 1988 at the party! So all articles or
graphics should be sent up to December, 10th to me. Well... it's gonna
  feature:

   * - the results of the Olympiad
