The Avant Garde organization of inter group
              artistic co-operation and information interchange

KNETwerk is an international intergroup organization, whose main purpose
is to provide the means and the motivation for the exchange of source code,
graphics, music, text and other forms of data useful for demo groups. Every
group remains as an independent unit capable and allowed to produce its own
productions and effect its own decisions in matters of new members etc. The
purpose of such an organization, is to encourage and effect the development
of the PC demo scene to a level of higher artistic quality and avantgardism
hopefully surpassing its equivalents on Amiga and ST.
KNETwerk is therefore mainly a PC-oriented organization, but every Amiga
or ST artist is also welcomed to join the organization, since PC, certainly
offering better environment for graphics and music (assuming the machine is
provided with GUS), lacks the graphics artists and the musicians to provide
pieces of such arts for the use of the demogroups, probably due the reasons
of PC:s lack of graphical co-processors, making the development of demo and
intro scene more difficult than on Amiga and ST. One can, how ever, squeeze
incredible effects out of PC if knowing how.
Therefore it is important for the PC coders, with different specialities
each, to co-operate in order to create better code, leaving more freedom to
the artists of graphical and musical talent to effect demonstrations of art
better than before.
The main purpose of KNETwerk is, in other words, to encourage the groups
bearing its membership to co-operate with each other, in order to transform
the PC demo scene into a better one.
KNETwerk also offers the possibility to partake in the discussion in the
KNETNET message & file-echo network and, of course, get the latest routines
from its file-echo. KNETNET is only available to KNETwerk memberboards.
KNETwerk also organizes parties, both copy and rave parties, both public
(large parties) and private (internal gatherings). KNETwerk attends parties
by other organizers as a whole reserving in advance (if possible) space for
all its members attending, and also providing computers and sound system to
be used by any of its members.
Of course, membership of KNETwerk isn't completely free - although there
are no annual fees to be paid, it is understood, that every group shall pay
its share of the KNETwerk monthly budget. The budget covers all expenses of
the organization, which, how ever, are minimal, since this all works on the
basis of voluntary co-operation. Some inavoidable expenses how ever appear,
usually related with parties: organizing, or participating. The monthly sum
how ever is virtually small, at the maximum no more than $20 per group. All
money left over is placed in a bank account, later to be used in organizing
such parties. The budget is shown to all members before effecting it and if
there are any, who do not agree, a new budget will be made. If there are no
special expenses in the budget, no money will be collected from the groups.
The usage of the money is carefully analyzed and explained in the budget
and there is no need to worry, no misuse of the funds, or corruption of the
administration will pass without careful inspection, and should there arise
need for that the person(s) or the whole group(s) behind such deeds will be
adequatly punished with extra fees or total abolishment from KNETwerk.
If, the membergroups have any ideas of improving the administration, all
will be welcomed, and carefully examined, and, if accepted by other members
of KNETwerk, later effected. This is a democratic group.
Every member group has a right to use any of the routines, graphics, and
music distributed in KNETNET file-echo areas as long as the original artist
is mentioned.
