The Donostia Council has rented us the place and all the necessary
stuff to make the Party. We expect that everyone will have in mind the
importance of leave all the stuff as when we found it.

The place will be opened 24 hours a day, allowing us to go in and out
whenever we like, even at night. Every time we want to enter, we must show
the ticket to the doorman. Have in mind that it's not allowed to make too
much noise in the Party Place at night.

Also isn't allowed to smoke or to drink any alcohol drink in the Party
Place. To do so you must go to the Bar in the same Party Place but separated
 of the computer zone.

We can't control that everybody behave correctly and respectful to the
rest of the people, but we think that this should be the natural actuation of
 everyone of us.

We expect that appart from the problems of the organization of such
type of events, we won't have any added problem due to the assistants bad
behaviour, not accounting that if anything is broken, or there is too much
noise or bad behaviour in general, is possible that the Donostia Council
doesn't allow us to end the Party and of course doesn't allow to organize the
 Party never more.

We will not doubt anytime to throw out anybody if required and to make
pay the damage done, or in extreme circumstances, to call the Police. To get
all under control, we will count with a security team.

As you know, the piracy is a crime, so we ask for the assistants to
refrain from bring pirate copies of commercial programs.

work done by every group or independent people, and the Freeware or Shareware

 9.- Voting
;

As usual, this time we will also have the voting programs to allow
everybody to vote in all the Compos. We will have a program for Amiga and
PC, and this time also for Linux. You could download this utils from the
official Euskal Party 6 Web Page (www.euskal.org), to avoid everybody looking
 for it at the Party.

After thinking a lot about it, we have decided to continue using the
original system used until now, because it's the most fiable way to collect
and count the votes, not counting that this is the fourth year we use this
system. The idea of using the net to make the voing is very attractive, but
having in mind that is the first edition we will use this type of net, we
prefer to continue using the old system, more tested, and error free.

To the people that this is the first time they come to the Party, we
remind that the unique think you must do to vote, is to get your own Vote
tool (depending on the platform you will use to vote) and using it when you
want to select the winners of every compo. Have in mind that you can save
your votes as times as you like, because the program maintains the old
selections everty time starts, so you can use it after every compo or when
 you want.

Sunday afternoon, after the last compo, we will notify the starting of
the vote admission, so have your disk ready! The voting admission will be
done during an hour approximately, so it's not necessary that everybody come
at the same time. This is a way to avoid queues, although we will try to
dedicate more computers to this task than in other editions.

The vote counting will be done immediately after the vote admission.
The system we will use is, as every year, a program that collect all votes
and test them for repetition, or no valid ones. The collector also informs
the number of assistants that contains every vote, that coincides with the
ticket number, and at the same time, with the number you must enter to the
vote tool. When you give up the disk, our program shows your ticket number,
and then it must coincide with the your ticket number, that is broken to
avoid you present the votes more than once (althought later the program will
test for this another time). Last year the program counted all the 200 votes
in less than 25 seconds. Please, be honest in the voting, and reward the BEST
 work.
The prize ceremony and the public vote counting will be done at the
same time Sunday afternoon, and probably will be broadcasted to all Donostia
 as last year.

͸
 10.- Voting rules
;

  1. The voting number MUST coincide with the ticket number.

  2. It's not allowed to vote to the same production more than once. (The Vote
Tool doesn't allow it and the counter removes this type of votes).

  3. It's not allowed to give up a disk with more than one voting file on it.
The programt will read ONE voting file on every disk.

  4. After the end of the voting admission, we will not admit any more voting
     disk.

  5. All disqualified production votes won't be counted.

  6. It's not allowed to give up the disk more than once, you must only vote
     one time.

  7. The full results will be released after the prize ceremony, and will be
available with the rest of productions in the net server, and then at
     Internet.

͸
 11.- Party Network
;

We will have a Party Network useable by all the computers that have a
net card with RJ45 connector. Every table of 16 computers will have a hub
that will offer 15 connections. The 16th will be used to cascade connect all
them. We discarded the idea of using coaxial cable, due to the problems we
had in past editions. It's supposed the good use of all the stuff supplied by
 Euskaltel (HUBs, wires, etc.).

The net is for us, this means that its use depends on the good
functioning of it. The organization couldn't and don't want to control the
net from bad using of it (saturation with WinNukes, ICMP, bombs, Mail bombs,
Hacking, etc, etc). It depends on all us that the users behave correctly.

At the entrance, a small sheet will tell you how to configure the
computers (preferably Windows 95/98) to access the net. The IP addresses will
 be supplied by DHCP.

Euskaltel, the new Euskadi global telecommunications operator, will
supply all the hardware and the installation required to allow the Internet
access at the Party. We will have a bandwidth proportional to the number of
connected computers, and also a cache proxy server and a firewall. It's only
allowed the external access through the port 80 (World Wide Web).

We will count also with a local WWW Party server, continuously
notifying about all the outstanding Party events (timetables, votings,
 results, etc.).

Have in mind that this is a Party, not a hacking competition. We
can't avoid that anybody try to sabotage in any way the net, but remind that
the first affected are you. Anyway, if anybody is d iscovered trying to use
the net or any of the servers incorrectly, will be kicked out of th Party.

This year we will have a dedicated server to allow the upload of the
productions directly to the organization, avoiding the annoying disks. Of
course, they will be valid yet.

We expect to have a Pentium II at 400MHz with 128MB of RAM and a 2GB
SCSI hard disk under Windows NT 4.0 (or possibly Linux). We hope this will be
sufficient to manage the estimated net traffic.

The productions will be sent throught FTP. An account will be created
for every group that present a DEMO, and an account for every one of the rest
of compos. The last will have only write permission, so to correct mistakes
you must contact with the organization. Instead, the DEMO accounts will have
full access, so every group has the responsability of its use, reserving the
organization its right to take the control in case of bad use of it.

The productions sent to the server will be in a specific format:

        - It must be compressed with ZIP
        - Every production must have a FILE_ID.DIZ file with the next format:

            Ticket Number: xxx
            Competition: xxxxxxx
            Production: xxxxxxxx
            Author: xxxxxxx
            Group: xxxxxxx
            Commments: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Every production that doesn't complain all the requirements will be
 invalidated.

Immedately after the compo results, all the productions will be put on
the net server to be downloaded by the assistants, independently of the Beta
 "state" of them.

;

The final prize quantity isn't determined, but as usual, it will
depend on the amount of sold tickets, and the cost of the party. It's very
important to remark that the Euskal Party is not a commercial one, so there
are no gains, and ALL the exceeding cash will be used to the compo prizes,
being the most important the demo ones. Last year 550,000 pts were
 distributed in prizes.
