The RTS will be held in Seyssins which is located in Isere (France) on the 5,6,
and 7 September 1998.
The doors will open on Saturday, the 5th of September at 04h00 and will be
closed on Monday, the 7th of September at 20h00.

LOCATION:

"Salle polyvalente Le PRISME" (prism-shaped polyvalent hall) located in Seyssins
near Grenoble. A480 highway, Seyssins (5a) exit, then follow the signs to the
big free car park of the hall. In case you are lost, feel free to dial
04.76.21.18.37 starting from the 5th of September at 04h00.

MEANS OF ACCESS:

 By car:
      For those coming from the North:
           - Go in the direction of LYON, then in the direction of GRENOBLE on
             the A48 highway, then A480.
      For those coming from the South:
           - Go in the direction of LYON, then A7 highway to VALENCE, then A480
             highway to GRENOBLE.
      For those coming from the East:
           - Go in the direction of GRENOBLE, on the A41 highway, then
             "Rocade Sud" till the end (in the direction of Seyssins).

 By train:
           - Arrival at GRENOBLE railway station, then take the shuttle to the
             RTS (the timetable will be given later on the RTS web page or on
             request).

 By plane:
           - International Airport of Lyon/Satolas, then bus (Satobus) to
             GRENOBLE coach station. Finally, take the RTS shuttle from the
             nearby railway station.

 By canoe kayak:
           - Return To the Source of the Drac by the Isere river and paddle to
             the next floating phonebox labelled "RTS".
             Finally, launch 2 flares... Here we come!

                           The RTS is (almost) free ;-)


If you pre-register, the price is 70FF. On the spot, it is 100FF for boys and
transsexuals, for the whole event.

 - MEGA GIANT OLDSKOOL COMPETITION (with large French fries and Coca):
 (Return To the Source!)

Open to any machine (C64, MSX, CPC, ORIC, TO7, ST, A500, ...), even to newer
ones (Falcon, A1200, PC, Mac, JAVA, Consoles, Arcade, ...).
You can use an emulator (even yours!).
Maximum running length: 10 minutes.

        - Machines released before 1990: you are free for all effects.

        - Newer machines: Rasters, ScrollText, Starfield, Bobs ...

So, the old, are you happy to return to school?


 - PC COMPETITIONS:

Productions must have the possibility to be quit by pressing ESCAPE.

 Configuration:

          Pentium 250 MMX, 64MB of RAM, Intel 740 4MB + 3DFX 4MB
          graphics cards, AWE 32 8MB + GUS ACE 1MB sound cards.

        - Demo:     Any OS (DOS 7.1, OS/2, Linux, '95, '98, NT, ...).
                    Size of the demo: 4MB max.
                    No pure animation.
                    Maximum running length: 10 minutes.

        - Intro:    Size of the intro: 64KB max.
                    No pure animation.
                    The intro can have either Sound Blaster or GUS support for
                    the presentation, but a version with both SB and GUS support
                    has to be delivered to the organizers.
                    Maximum running length: 5 minutes.

        - 4K Intro: Size of the intro: 4096 bytes max.
                    Sound ALLOWED.
                    Maximum running length: 5 minutes.

                    No pure animation.

                    Maximum running length: 5 minutes.

        - 4K Intro: Size of the intro: 4096 bytes max.
                    Sound ALLOWED.

 - FALCON COMPETITIONS:

Productions will be shown using Netscape Communicator 4 (for Windows 95/98).
Productions must not use any external resource (the competition machine will
NOT be connected to the Internet).

        Size of the production: 4MB max.
        No pure animation.
        Maximum running length: 5 minutes.


 - GFX COMPETITIONS:

Productions will be shown using ACD-SEE (for Windows 95).

        - 2D drawing: no scan.

        - Rendered images.


 - ANIMATION COMPETITION:

Any type of animation, no exotic format (or provide the player).


 - MUSIC COMPETITIONS:

Maximum listening time: 7'30".

        - 4-voice module: played under Deli-Tracker.
          maximum size: the one of an Amiga disk (880KB).

        - Multi-voice module: played under Cubic with an AWE32 8MB (or GRAVIS
          on request).
          maximum size: the one of an HD PC disk (1.44MB).
