          Music Competition #1 Update #1
          --------------------

Hello folks. This is Snowman, bringing you a contest.
Yes, you guessed it. YOU HAVE TO WRITE A SONG.
Musicians from the PC, Amiga, MacIntosh, and Atari
scenes are all encouraged to enter. The prizes are modest,
but the goal of this contest is to allow computer musicians
from all across Earth to "show their stuff."
Personally, I think that this venture really has
potential if I can get some figureheads in the field to
participate. In the end, I am really happy for any and all
          entries I get.
For a quick look at what a contest entry looks like,
check out file $$LAMER.<ZIP,LZH> included in this archive.

          ---------
          The Rules
          ---------

          1. The song, and anything else in the submitted archive MUST
NOT be over 50k (51200 bytes). There are two excep-
               tions to this:
                1. If your archive is very close to the 50k mark and
the BBS you upload it to puts an advertisement in
                    it, pushing it above 50k.
                2. If the BBS you upload it to recompresses the
archive, causing it to go above 50k.
          2. The musical format can be any one of the following:
MOD: can be the 4, 6, or 8 legged variety
must play correctly on GUSMOD v1.3
                       (which means BPM not supported)
669: must play correctly on Composer v1.3
S3M: must play correctly on S3MPLAY.
               STM:
FAR: must play correctly on Farandole v.08d
ULT: must play correctly on Ultra Tracker v1.3
MTM: Renaissance's new 32 channel format
          3. All entries are to be submitted before January 1st, 1994.
(see WHERE DO I SUBMIT MY SONG?)
          4. Only one entry per person.
          5. The archive name must use the format:
$$FILENM.<ZIP,ARJ,LHA,LZH> -- where FILENM is your song
               title.
The file name must use the format:
               $$FILENM.<MOD,669,S3M,STM,FAR,ULT> -- where FILENM is
               your song title.
          6. The song must have your handle and/or name in it.
          7. The text file SUBMIT.TXT (included in this archive) must
be completed and included in your song's archive.
          8. The archive must be compressed in either ZIP, ARJ, LZH or
               LHA format.
          9. The song's archive may include any BBS ads, group .NFOs,
FILE_ID.DIZs, or any other such thing, provided the
archive is less than 50,000 bytes.

          Comments and Suggestions
	  ------------------------

          A. If you don't include your home mailing address in the
SUBMIT.TXT form, I won't be able to send you your
               prize. :(
          B. If, for some reason, I can not download, unarchive, or
play your song correctly, it is your loss. I have
been in this racket for quite some time now and know
what I am doing, so chances are that if something is
wrong, its probably not my fault.
          C. Upload your song to more than one location.

all of the top songs on it. Unfortunately, on a college
budget, that is about the best prize I can offer.
