this disk was originally going to be
much more grandiose. have many more
songs than what made it in. the few
songs which did are only barely up
to my standards. as anyone who has
ever tracked knows, it is very
frustrating the way that you
have a song in your head and
yet you cannot quite get it
into the computer quite
right. but the time has
come for this musicdisk
to finally be released
into the world.

please, play all songs under Impulse Tracker v2.06 or later, preferrably on
a software-mixed 16-bit stereo sound driver using the 32-bit interpolated
with no filter and at whatever mixing rate you can manage. if you must use
a GUS, please use the non-dynamic driver; it will sound *much* better without
it (even at only 19kHz). also, please turn off all filters you can between
your CPU and your speakers. here is how i have my sound setup:

CPU:
 AMD 486DX4/100
Impulse Tracker:
 Pro Audio Spectrum 16
 22kHz stereo
 32-bit interpolated
 no filter
PAS16 mixer:
 main volume 90%
 DSP volume 80%
 bass 75%
 treble 50%
 loudness on
stereo: (Sansui SolidState 2000A, from circa 1981 :)
 all filters off
 bass 60%
 treble 60%
 volume 25%
 balance 50%
all percentages are of *maximums*, that is, 50% is centered on the dial.

in any case, the settings, particularly the stereo/speaker settings, will most
likely vary.

i give love to the world

--

clockwork melon (clkmelon.it)
  the world simply moves like
  clockwork, finely-tuned
  does not stop to consider
  love flaunted, lovers swooned
i breathe a breath of life
  into the dying day
nighttime takes all the rest of me
and so then i do say
return of the files (files2.it)
they come to get the relics lost
  and lovers are forlorn
they do not stop to think about
  their shameful lies and scorn
how dare they take it from me now,
  my inner peace and rest?
do chide they me now and so what,
i will give it my best
general humidity (humid.it)
and then i pause to think about
  the ever-rising mist
i stop to smell the pleasant dew
  which trickles down my chest
i breathe in deep and do i hear,
  the ever-present void
it grips me in and takes me down
  i am a bit annoyed
pure energy (energy.it)
so now i sulk and swear and swerve
  into the dying day
i cannot help but think that i
  may forever here just lay
but then a burst of energy
it grips me, takes me in
i feel it surge through every quill
  perhaps i now can win
fenced static (fenced.it)
but once again it grips me and
  i cannot move my tail
it pins me down, keeps me from sight
and then i start to wail
i hear a rushing wind and i do
  feel it on my snout
but then i smell the deathly voice
which will not hear me out...
