@X05

Almost every tracker has an inspiration blockade from time to time. Mine, for instance is pretty strong at the moment. I haven't finished any tracks since April, and the blockade doesn't seem to be going away. This is only the second time such a thing has happened, that's why I'm not even sure if it will go away. Could this mean I ran out of ideas? No. I have tons of unfinished work, just waiting to be done.

@X0DWhat's the problem then?@X05

I read an article from @X0DUnited Trackers Newsletter@X05, which explains the problem, and what (not) to do in the case of a such blockade.

When you start to track a tune, you're usually inspired by something, right? Well, not many trackers finish their work the same day they started it, and just save the unfinished work and turn off the computer. The problem occurs when you try to add some patterns the next day. You don't feel like tracking much, the yesterday`s inspiration is gone. You try to finish the work anyway, but the music that seemed wonderful yesterday is @X0Djust leading nowhere@X05, and everything you add, feels redundant and no good.

The article explains that you should never track when you're tired, or out of boredom. If you feel uninspired don't try to continue unfinished work, because you'll just waste the whole thing, and God knows I destroyed a million tunes that way. When I add some patterns and I find out I don't like the result I just delete the whole thing, and there goes a perfectly good start of a possible hit :).

Try not to ignore these facts, and you'll maybe find out that your ideas are not gone. Track only when you feel like it, otherwise just close the tracker and go play basketball or listen to some other tunes or whatever.

Just don't waste the unfinished work.

I'm expecting my inspiration to be back in about a week, and I will definitely track by these rules from now on. I think my tunes will show a lot of improvements, and some more sense. If notwell, then I'm in deep shit, and I'll quit tracking business, and just delete every tune I've ever made...Not likely. :)

Thanks for paying attention, and now just take a moment or two and think about this, and you'll find out that it makes sense.
