About Intra and the multimedia world:
ͼ

Intra is a Canadian group of students working in harmony to create
multi-media presentations. The world of multimedia is vast indeed. It is
characterized by the demo scene, in which programming and artistic talents
(mostly of students) are developped, exposed and noticed. The scene has
grown a lot in the last few years, with a competition going on about
every two months.

While the big part of the scene is in Europe, NAID 96* revealed
that North America is alive and serious. Competitions consist of
preparing a multimedia presentation (demo) that consists of REAL-TIME*
visual (and audio) effects, usually synchronized to music. Think of a
demo as MTV on a computer, with the main goal being to catch (and
maintain) the viewer's attention, if not the viewer's awe.

Intra is one of the many groups part of that scene, and we were
at NAID 96. Although we do this mostly for fun, we'll even take on
reasonable commercial projects.

* North-American International Demofestival: a competition that was held
May 31st - June 2nd of 1996. It was held in Longeuil, Qubec, Canada.
The group Apraxia Factor organized the whole thing, and it was a BLAST!
Big thanks to Struk, Med and Mr. Khan for a GREAT party!

* Real-time means that all of the effects are calculated as they run. For
example, the illumination or shading on a 3-dimensional object will be
calculated, for every movement that particuliar object makes, according to
the object's position, (and orientation) the light source's position and
mostly the object's surface. The can take a lot of calculations and
explains why some demos will run a lot slower on a 386. (some techniques
have been developped to get around this...) From a programming
  point-of-view, a demo is like a non-interactive game.

 Intra productions:
ͼ

No, that thing you downloaded isn't the only thing Intra has
released. Other productions have been the subject of a reasonable amount
of work and effort. Follows are Intra's productions, which are available
at Hyper BBS, if not at FTP.CDROM.COM.

Marshmellow Dreams - Bishop's first musicdisk. Featuring Music by
Bishop, code by mega and pictures by Preacher.

Patchwork - A demo which competed at NAID96. This was a collaborative
                    effort between Intra and AzurE.

The eLiTe dEm0 - A very funny joke demo made by mega. All demo code
                         is 100% Quick-Basic 4.5!

SamsalP - A very plasmatic demo by the king of PlasmaS: mega.
Music by Bishop. Yes, that is mega's picture you
                  see at the beginning.

The Intra Christmas - An original idea by Spot, this is a
Sing-Along demo karaoke-type of demo with Christmas music
by Cyclone and Bishop, code by mega, and
                                art by Solitaire
