and now a word from our sponsors...

good morning lucky listener. i am back again with another release. my last
public release was 'move that body' which i hope you enjoyed. if you have
not got it yet, it can be found on ftp.cdrom.com as pht-move.zip.

the music contest 4 competition has just ended two days ago and i missed
out unfortunately, but the story of what happened is a sad one and i morn
the fact that i did not enter. this song which you have now got, entitled
'elements (of the mind)', was to be my entry into the rookie section of
mc4. having only spent 6 hours over a period of the two last days before
the deadline of the competition, i completed it to a rather, i believe,
satisfactory condition. but quite unfortunately, my email account died and
i did not receive my verification form which i needed to enter. a jeffrey
lim, aka pulse, creator of impulse tracker, then informed me over the fone
on the day of the deadline, that gd was accepting entries via email. i
then phoned up a darren hazelton, aka red haze, creator of doslnk10.arj to
email my entry with the information of the application form, explaining
my situation. by that time, it was a few hours past the deadline. to my
horrified understanding thereafter, it was turned down. next in line was a
cameron sears, aka dan abnormal, irc freak, whom also tried to email my
entry to gd. it too was rejected. i have been very saddened by this event
but hold no grunges whatsoever - except to my ex-internet provider.

i wish all the competitors of the music contest 4 the very best of luck.

inspiration for the song was derived from elwood, whose songs contain some
of the best elements of tracked music up to date. well done! other sources
of inspiration came from the following metal bands:

tiamat, cradle of filth, and the 3rd and the mortal.

hard to believe? so do i - but some minor elements are present.

anyways, you can reach me at the following address:

     nacht@suburbia.net
and specifically direct the mail to me coz it aint my email account.

until we meet again in my next public release,

  phorte.fts
