     X2001 Music Competition Entries
Brought To You in .sid format by Waz/Padua
------------------------------------------

All twenty one tunes are brought to you here in this
zip file for your enjoyment and pleasure (note: the
missing Xentax entries have now been added), but first
a few technical notes:

"Electronic Transfer" by GRG/SHAPE/Blues Muz' is very
impressive technically. It actually uses pseudo 2
channel digis as well as be a 5x tune. Due to the fact
that near the end of the tune a few of the "elec-tronic"
samples played changes its pitch half way through (this
behaviour cannot be replicated on a SID chip emulator
player using the extended PSID sample method, it's a
limitation) those samples will not sound 100% correct, but
they are in the right place. However this should not
detract too much from your enjoyment of the tune as all
the other samples play present and correct.
Also due to the psuedo 2 channel digis, HardSID owners
should turn _off_ HardSID as the device in Sidplay to
play this tune, as HardSID playing cannot utilise the
second set of extended PSID sample registers ($D5XX).

"Arkanoid" by Daf/Samar Productions is also 5x, however
this wasn't too difficult as the player called certain
$D012 scanlines, this behaviour is replicated here to
be as close to the original as possible.

Although "X-Static" by Richard/Civitas is a 4x tune, do
note that the player calls $1003 four times one after the
other, only changing the border colour. In view of this,
the SID does those calls the same way.

"Rastering SML" by AMB/Onslaught/Level 64 was also entered
for the GoatTracker music competition last month.

All tunes ripped by Waz/Padua except:
"Rastering SML", sent to me direct by AMB (thanks Alex)
